The
Sankar Polytechnic college was established in July 1958 by Sri S.N.N.
Sankaralinga Iyer Philanthropist, missionary and founder, India
Cements industrial chemicals and one of the chief promoters of South
Shipping India Corporation, chemicals and plastics was a legend
in his own times. With the then Chief minister of Madras Shri K.Kamaraj
lighting the kuthuvilakku. The Polytechnic and Hostel are situated
at Sankar Nagar 2 Kilometers west of Tirunelveli-Madurai Trunk Road
near Thalaiyuthu.
